The company is promoted and managed by Lakshmi group (LMW). The main Business Profile of Southern Iron & Steel Company is pig iron and sale of coke.The company`s plants are located in Pottaneri (Salem, Tamil Nadu ). The commissioning of the railway siding by the company has helped the logistics movement of iron ore and coke. Southern Iron & Steel Companyis planning to set up a Steel Project in Pottaneri (Tamil Nadu) Co-Promooted by Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation and in Technical collaboration with Mennesman Demag A.G. Germany, at a cost of Rs 688 crores.
